Botanical description
Originally from Central America, the plant varies from annual bushy types (30cm.) to tall climbing perennials (4m.). The seed is very large and usually white. Sometimes it can hybridise with P. vulgaris.

Production description

Perennial usually cultivated as an annual. prefers warm temperatures and is tolerant of drought. Needs minimum soil temperatures of 16 °C for planting.
