Organised by Agroscope FAL Reckenholz and AEP, this international scientific workshop entitled 'Grain legumes and the environment: how to assess benefits and impacts?' was held in Zurich (Switzerland) on 18–19 November 2004 with 50 participants. It brought together experts working on the methodologies for environmental assessment of agricultural production systems including grain legumes as crops or as raw materials for feeding animals, in order to:
1. Gather and exchange expert knowledge on the environmental benefits and negative impacts specific to grain legumes production and use in Europe
2. Define the knowledge gaps and the need for future research relative to this area of scientific research;
3. Establish an inter-disciplinary expert network of scientists working on environmental aspects of grain legumes production and use. More...
