Botanical description: It is an erect to sub erect highly branched annual plant, with trifoliate leaves carried on long petioles. The inflorescence occurs in cluster from five to twenty flowers usually yellow. The pods are small and contain less seeds than mung bean but larger ones. The seed colour is usually black.

Production description: Black seeds

Major uses and marketed products: These small black seeds have a fine taste and are very popular in many Asian or African countries. Whole or hulled seeds (India, Asia), forage for animal feed.
