Legume Research - Vision
Vision for the future discussed in the legume community

Collaborations in legume research have now been well established both at trans-national and inter-disciplinary levels. The recent 6th European Grain Legumes Conference in Lisbon afforded a timely opportunity to define a strategic vision for legume research.

Legumes could play a strong role enhancing the sustainability of EU and the European Commission encouraged our research consortium, together with its wider international network, to build upon current knowledge, resources and expertise and devise a forward strategy. This should build the European Knowledge Based Bio-Economy for the purpose of enhancing sustainability of EU agriculture, taking account of the economic and environmental pressures on primary production.
